Bullet For My Valentine (B.F.M.V) are a Welsh Metalcore band from Bridgend in Wales. The band was formed in 1998 and consists of four band members; Matt Tuck (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Michael Paget (Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals), Michael Thomas (Drums) and Jason James (Bass).

When the band first originated they covered songs from Metallica and Nirvana. They were then known as ‘Jeff Killed John’. Nick Crandle was the original bass player until 2003 when he was replaced by Jason James. The band ‘Jeff Killed John’ recorded six songs but didn’t release any of them. Two of these earlier recorded songs were later re-made for their debut album as ‘Bullet For My Valentine’. The song ‘Eye Spy’ was renamed to ‘Hit the Floor’ and ‘Nation to Nation’ was renamed to ‘Turn to Despair’.

The band finally got a five-album record deal with Song BMG in 2002. Their debut album ‘The Poison’ was released on October 3rd 2005 in the United Kingdom but later in America. The album was dedicated to a long time friend of the band Liam Roy Denning. The album sold over 500,000 copies in America an reached number 1 in the Top Heatseekers chart, as well as entering the Billboard 200 at number 128.

Bullet For My Valentine later went on to make appearances at Kerang! XXV, the Download Festival and a tour of America with Rob Zombie.

Their second studio album ‘Scream Aim Fire’ was released on January 29th 2008 and sold 53,000 copies in the first week. The album also debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200. The band toured North America and Australia in the 2008 ‘Taste Of Chaos’ tour alongside Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu. Later in 2008 the band toured Europe and were supported by Black Tide, Bleeding Through and Lacuna Coil. In December of 2008 their album ‘Scream Aim Fire’ was re-released with four bonus tracks.

In the summer of 2009, the band toured across America as part of the ‘Rockstar Mayhem Festival’ alongside Killswitch Engage, Trivium and All That Remains. They also made an appearance on the United Kingdom leg of the ‘Sonisphere’ tour at Knebworth, where they headlined the second stage.

Lead singer Matt Tuck said that the band had recorded four or five new songs that were ready for their new album in 2010. The new album was confirmed by the band in August 2009.
